When I was a lad, I was only interested in playing my parents' "20 Star Tracks on Ronco 1972" Album. The cover said "Vol 1". I was always very careful to play it with the volume set to one as I believed my hearing would be irreparably damaged if I played it any louder. I've always felt some resentment that I could have listened to it louder without any adverse effects. It was this resentment that drove me to invent "Techno-Punk"; the kind of music that WILL deafen you unless you listen to it at the prescribed volume level.
